HCL has identified a critical issue affecting mail routing in HCL Notes and Domino. This issue impacts all Domino server versions restarted on or after December 13, 2024.
What is the issue?
A bug in the code prevents the router from loading your mail routing configuration after a server restart. This can lead to:
- Mail delivery failures: Emails may not be delivered correctly due to routing loops.
- Mail rule malfunctions: Existing mail rules might not function as expected.
- Single mail.box usage: Domino will only utilize a single mail.box regardless of your configuration settings.
What should you do?
This is not a security vulnerability, but it is important to address it promptly to ensure proper email functionality. Here’s what you need to do:
- Only if your Domino server was restarted on or after December 13, 2024: Check your mail delivery logs for any issues.
- Apply the interim fix: HCL has released interim fixes for all Domino versions in mainstream support. You can find the appropriate fix for your server version and operating system in the HCL Knowledge Base article (link below).
Important: The interim fix requires your server to be running on the latest fix pack of its release. It cannot be applied to older fix packs.
- For versions with Extended Support (9.0.1 and 10.0.1): Fixes will be available soon.
